Last week Wallpaper Magazine hosted an event aptly named Lettuce Entertain You, as it was the relaunch of the lettuce inspired tableware designed by ceramicist Dodie Thayer in the Sixties.
Thayer, although retired, agreed to collaborate with Fashion Designer Tory Burch to revive her much loved pieces. Wallpaper Magazine hosted the event at Burch’s New Bond Street store where Thayer’s collection took pride of place at the heart of the art deco inspired space. The playful collection includes selection of elegant canapé plates, bowls and our favourite piece from the collection – the teacups.
Aside from taking a look at the wonderful ceramics, Summerhill and Co managed to catch up with Bethan Laura Wood, the designer commissioned to create the striking artwork in the window of the Tory Burch store. She told us that her installation had made a whistle stop tour around the world from Milan, where it was unveiled at the Salone del Mobile, to Munich then New York before it was exhibited in London.
